I attended Berry College and I loved the Rome area so I settled here. In March 2008 I joined Compassionate Paws. My German Shepherd, Auggie, turned out to be a very good partner to visit with. Auggie’s strong areas were hospice visits and anything to do with kids. I’m still visiting with dogs related to Auggie today. Compassionate Paws is a wonderful group of people who care about their community and helping others. When you visit with your Pet Partner I believe we receive more in return than we give. I love being an evaluator and meeting the prospective handlers and animals.
I am from Rome and after graduating from The University of Georgia I came back to live and work. I began my journey with Compassionate Paws, Inc. at the beginning of 2020 with my Pet Partner Louis. Being a part of Compassionate Paws has been such a rewarding experience and a wonderful way to give back to my community. Louis and I visit hospitals, nursing homes, memory care facilities, senior living facilities, colleges and participate in community events. Once I got involved with Compassionate Paws I kept looking for other ways to contribute. Louis and I are an Animal Assisted Crisis Response team (AACR) and I am now an Evaluator. I love what we do and love meeting all the people we come into contact with through this journey.
